Hunger Action Month - The Full Effect

September is Hunger Action Month, a time to join the movement to end hunger in America. This year’s theme is The Full Effect, which shows how food banks are creating a healthier, hunger-free future for everyone. But they need your help to provide meals and support to millions of Americans facing hunger.

In Northeast Tennessee, 71,380 people (13.8%) are food insecure, meaning they don’t always have access to the food they need. Among them are 13,600 children (13.8%). Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee is working hard to feed them through various programs, such as food pantries, mobile distributions, home deliveries, and child hunger programs. Each month, they serve 45,000 people in the region, including 6,210 children.
